Frequently asked questions.

(Because you like to have all the information upfront!)

Do you accept insurance?

I am a private-pay clinician and will work with your insurance as an out-of-network provider if it is warranted. This means you are responsible for the payments in full upfront. Should we decide to make use of your OON benefits, you will receive some reimbursement from your insurance company (50-90% of your sessions fees depending on your plan).

Like any other health services, therapy is considered a medical expense, which can often be a tax write-off (I encourage you to talk to your accountant). Also, many clients opt to pay for therapy through their pre-taxed FSA/HSA (contact your Human Resources personnel to obtain the necessary information).

What are your fees?

All fees include session time and notes. They do not include consultations and coordination with other care providers.

  • COUPLES/FAMILY Intake session ~ $590/90mins

  • COUPLES/FAMILY Sessions ~ $395/55mins

Please inquire with me directly if you are interested in doing intensive couples therapy. Prices will vary based on length and location.

  • DISCERNMENT COUNSELING SESSION 1 (2hrs 15 mins): $790

  • DISCERNMENT COUNSELING SESSIONS 2-7 (90mins): $590

Please inquire with me directly if you are interested in doing an intensive discernment counseling process.

  • INDIVIDUAL Intake session ~ $400/60mins

  • INDIVIDUAL Sessions ~ $315/45mins

What is your cancellation policy?

For regular appointments, my cancellation policy is 24 hours and 48 hour notice for sessions longer than 60mins. You will receive an automatic reminder of your appointment 72 hours before your session. Should you not reschedule or cancel before the required window,, you will be responsible for the full fee of your scheduled session.

What makes you unique as a therapist?

I have an innate skill of helping my clients connect on a deeper level to themselves so that they can connect with their loved ones. This means taking a moment in session that is seemingly inconsequential and instead deepening into it to reveal where your thought, feelings or defenses are blocking you from what you want. I’ve been told by clients that I can read their mind. I haven’t developed that talent yet (yet!), but I have an ability to help clients describe their inner workings in a way that finally makes sense to them so that they can get unstuck. (Find out more what past clients had to say).

I’m not a therapist that settles for the status quo, so that means I don’t believe that my role is to only validate you. I find that clients benefit most when I lovingly challenge them to grow by not relying so heavily on their pre-existing conceptions of themselves and others. As a client once told me: “you sure know how to cut through the bullshit.”

You have an unusual name. Tell me a little bit about you.

I am Turkish by birth and an American through my marriage of 20 years. I grew up living all over the world, including England, Pakistan, Belgium and India. I speak fluent French and Turkish. I’m married, I have two children (one was conceived after many years of infertility, which is why those struggling with infertility are near and dear to my heart). Oh, and I have a dog named Shadow. He’s a handful!
