Hi, I’m Ebru…

If you’ve browsed through my website you already know that I am dedicated to providing highly specialized counseling services to couples and individuals who strive for healthy relationships with themselves and their partners. As a relationship expert and licensed psychotherapist, I have a deep appreciation and knowledge of what it takes to find and maintain meaningful relationships in our contemporary experiences of high expectations of ourselves, our marriage and family-life.

I believe my role is to offer you the best counseling (with a healthy dose of straight talk!) to explore and address the stuck places that get in the way of feeling truly fulfilled in your relationships and with life. When it comes to couples therapy, it takes a certain mindset and professional expertise to be able to create enough space for all parties in the relationship to feel heard, seen, while also being challenged to learn and be accountable for their respective contributions to the disconnection.

I am a certified Emotionally Focused Therapist (Supervisor-candidate), an advanced practitioner in the Developmental Model for Couples Therapy, a Couples Sex Therapist and Certified Discernment Counselor, and I provide the techniques of Internal Family Systems therapy (IFS) to deepen your healing process both for couples and individuals. These titles might not mean much to you, however when you’re looking to put your heart and your most important relationship in the hands of a therapist, I trust you want that person to really know what they’re doing.

In addition to the rigour and dedication it took for my postgraduate certifications, they are only part of the specialized trainings I have done to formulate an integrative approach for my clients—because when it comes to tackling matters of the heart and orienting toward the best version of ourselves, I don’t believe in one-size-fits all. If I’m going to meet you where you are in life when you walk into my office, I better have a lot of tools in my tool box!

You will find as we work together that I am very engaged, compassionately persistent, collaborative, transparent about the process of therapy, and most importantly, sincerely interested in you and your relationship. As an LGBTQ-affirming therapist from a culturally diverse background, I come with an open mind and socioculturally relevant framework that allow us to work together no matter who you love or how you choose to define your relationship. Whether this is your first or tenth time in therapy, you will notice that my approach is highly experiential and goes deeper than just putting a band-aid on the issues that brought you to counseling. I’m not about the venting, I’m about giving you meaningful framework and skills to set you up for success.

I am licensed in Connecticut and New York, which allows me to offer in-person and online therapy for Discernment Counseling, marriage counseling and individual therapy services when appropriate in both states. I am also available for online therapy for those who travel frequently within the United States and internationally.

I look forward to hearing from you!

  • "We had never done counseling before, and I remember my husband was very skeptical that the therapy would ever work. After just a few sessions with Ebru, he admitted to me that it was the best decision we had made for our relationship to see her. These sessions were eye-opening to both of us. We have learned so much not only about one another, but about ourselves that we never realized before."

  • "Ebru is made for this career, it seems to be natural for her, to understand the mechanisms, to see patterns and to find very effective ways to help untangling everything."

    New York

  • "She facilitated us in a very painful, traumatic time in our marriage and helped us communicate to each other what we knew all along.”

    Greenwich, CT

  • "We had an excellent experience. Ebru was punctual and responsive, while also compassionate and understanding… During therapy sessions she was prepared and engaged. It was clear that there was more preparation and investment than I had experienced with other therapists. We found the therapy very helpful and would highly recommend working with her."

    Brooklyn, NY

  • "Ebru was not judgmental. She gave us both an equal voice - and calmed us if we needed to pause. She is far above a therapist we saw several years ago. We learned to communicate better and use the tools daily that Ebru addressed with us."

    Westport, CT

  • "Ebru is warm, curious, interested and inisghtful, providing thoughtful feedback while gently challenging my prespective. She was clear in establishing goals for our work together and was successful in brining awareness to the issues I had hoped to address"
