Hi, I’m Ebru…

If you’ve browsed through my website you already know that I am dedicated to providing proven and skilled counseling services to couples and individuals who strive for healthy relationships. As a relationship expert and licensed psychotherapist, I have a deep appreciation and knowledge of what it takes to find and maintain secure intimacy in our contemporary experiences of high expectations of ourselves, our marriage and family-life.

I believe my role is to offer you the best relationship counseling (with a healthy dose of reality!) to explore and address the stuck places that get in the way of secure connection. It takes a certain mindset and professional expertise to be able to create enough space for all parties in the relationship to feel heard, seen, while also learning to be accountable for their respective contributions to the disconnection.

I am a certified Emotionally Focused Therapist (Supervisor-candidate), Couples Sex Therapist and Discernment Counselor. These titles might not mean much to you, however when you’re looking to put your most important relationship in the hands of a therapist, I trust you want that person to really know what they’re doing. In addition to the rigour and dedication it took to be certified in EFT, Sex Therapy, and Discernment Counseling, they are only part of the specialized trainings I have done to formulate an integrative approach for my clients—because when it comes to tackling matters of the heart, I don’t believe in one-size-fits all. If I’m going to meet you where you are emotionally when you walk into my office, I better have a lot of tools in my tool box!

You will find as we work together that I am very engaged, collaborative, transparent about the process of therapy, and most importantly, sincerely interested in you and your relationship. Whether this is your first or tenth time in therapy, you will notice that my approach is highly experiential and goes deeper than just putting a band-aid on the issues that brought you to counseling.

While I prioritize in-person therapy sessions at my office in Westport, CT (Fairfield County), I am licensed in Connecticut and New York, which allows me to offer online Discernment Counseling, marriage counseling and individual therapy services when appropriate in both states.

I look forward to hearing from you.

My background not only makes me a very adaptable person, it also allows me to engage with others with a real appreciation for all of our multicultural nuances and an awareness for how they influence our relationships.

  • I love to read and learn. I'm a perpetual student of life. I draw so much inspiration from my readings (fiction and non-fiction) that broaden my mind and heart, which in turn lead to therapy sessions that are rich in analogies, evocations, and meaning. You will find that my readings strongly inspire my blog entries. Additionally, I share those reading with my clients so that they can continue to think differently about their relationship, their experiences, and the possibilities.
