My role is to provide you with the best Relationship COUNSELING approaches (with a healthy dose of reality) to explore and address the stuck places that get in the way of secure connection.

As a relationship expert and licensed psychotherapist, I have a deep appreciation and knowledge of what it takes to find and maintain secure intimacy in our contemporary experiences of high expectations of ourselves, our marriage and family-life.

I am a certified Emotionally Focused Therapist who takes an integrative approach...

You will find as we work together that I am very engaged, collaborative, transparent about the process of therapy, and most importantly, sincerely interested in you and your relationship. Whether this is your first or tenth time in therapy, you will notice that my approach is highly experiential and goes deeper than just putting a band-aid on the issues that brought you to counseling.

I avoid holding a binary view of people and relationships. I can create enough space for differing perspectives and work through the gray areas that make each relationship unique.

In both couples counseling and individual therapy, I bridge to world of attachment theory and differentiation. In other words, I conceptualize you, your experiences, and your relationship with a keen understanding for the integral role of our earliest relationships and experiences, our innate need to form a secure bond with another, and what happens when we cope with life when that need has not been met. I also bring a strength-based approach to highlight the importance of resilience, setting healthy boundaries and enhancing the qualities that make you who you are.

In couples counseling, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) , which is recognized as the gold-standard of couples counseling by the American Psychological Association, informs the process and experience of our sessions. However, I always integrate learnings from my countless trainings with various leaders from the field of psychotherapy and couples counseling.

And because I know that a fulfilling relationship often entails both emotional security and sexual intimacy, I am certified to assess and provide counseling to address issues of sex/sexuality and when sexual partners are not on the same page about their intimate lives (aka, desire discrepancy).

Lastly, if your marriage is on the brink and you feel stuck about whether you want to work on the marriage or divorce, I provide Discernment Counseling to help you gain clarity and certainty about the future of your marriage before you make this very important decision. I do not have preconceived notions about whether you should stay together or part ways. I believe it is important to explore such questions openly, honestly, and thoroughly. Once your goals are established, I will work diligently to support you in achieving them, whatever they may be.

Whether you come in as a couple or for individual therapy, I want to help you, first and foremost, feel grounded and secure in your sense of self.

My hope is for you to create a safe and emotionally open bond with your partner you have been longing for. I will work alongside you to rediscover (or maybe discover for the first time) a more honest relationship with yourself and your partner.

I can help you identify blind-spots that we all have about ourselves and our relationships -- I am confident in my skills to read between the lines by sifting through what you bring to the sessions in the here-and-now.  Marriage counseling is hard work (many therapists won't go near it because of all the big emotions in the room and it's very high stakes) and it is my responsibility to provide with a safe and empowering space to discuss such vulnerable topics.

My clients describe me as focused, pragmatic, transparent, and able to bring a sense of lightheartedness in much needed moments.

***Here is what past clients had to say about their experiences working with me***

While I prioritize in-person therapy sessions at my office in Westport, CT (Fairfield County), I am licensed in Connecticut and New York, which allows me to offer online Discernment Counseling, marriage counseling and individual therapy services when appropriate in both states.

  • I grew up living all over the world and as a result I'm fluent in multiple languages. My background not only makes me a very adaptable person, it also allows me to engage with others with a real appreciation for all of our multicultural nuances and an awareness for how they influence our relationships.

  • I love to read and learn. I'm a perpetual student of life. I draw so much inspiration from my readings (fiction and non-fiction) that broaden my mind and heart, which in turn lead to therapy sessions that are rich in analogies, evocations, and meaning. You will find that my readings strongly inspire my blog entries. Additionally, I share those reading with my clients so that they can continue to think differently about their relationship, their experiences, and the possibilities.
